Like any self-respecting kafeneion, this will be the place to catch up on all the latest info or news!
Something to bear in mind . . . .
In the past I have experienced problems checking in my rucksack at Athens International Airport. They don't seem to like all the loose-hanging parts or whatever, so they send you off to the excess/large items dept. It's a hassle and a schlepp, and you never know whether you are going to see your luggage again. This year I bought a travel tote and simply put the rucksack in it and zipped it up. Voila! The folk with rucksacks in front of me were sent away, but mine was simply regarded as a holdall and booked in without fuss. Hope it will always be like that!

AN ACCOLADE FOR HELLASTRAVELS!
I was delighted recently to receive an email from GLENN STEINER, complimenting the Hellastravels site! Glenn - a keen Grecophile - is a well-known, award-winning photographer who lives in the United States.
Alongside his very busy schedule Glenn also presents annual photography workshops on the fabulously photogenic Cycladic island of Santorini in the Aegean. Visit his website at www.greekislandphotography.com and discover how to take those fantastic pics you have always dreamed of taking!

ONLINE FERRY BOOKINGS.
Things are getting pretty sophisticated nowadays with regards to ferry travel. I recently used the ferries.gr site to book ferries for the summer. A very good site, and easy to navigate. You can reserve where you wish to sit....smoking/non-smoking, seat or table, economy or VIP, etc. Once booked, they send you a reference number, and you simply collect your ticket from the Piraeus agent an hour or two before you catch your ferry.
There is a link to the site on the LINKS page.

REQUESTS FOR MATERIAL
I have had a few requests asking for permission to use some of the material (photographic), which appears on the site. This is most flattering! With pleasure! Anyone who wishes to use any of the material (content/pics) is most welcome to do so. It is not necessary to acknowledge the material, but if you do (as a sort of plug for the website), it would be most appreciated.

GRECOPHONE LANGUAGE HOLIDAYS I have come across this language school. It offers high-quality intensive Greek language courses in the lovely city of Kavala in Northern Greece. The prices for courses are really competitve. Accommodation is provided, which is always a great bonus. Visit their website at www.grecophone.co.uk
